 Dear Pastor:
Do you know students who have bought into many of the cheap, short-lived highs offered in our media sources such as music, television, movies, video games, and the internet? Do you desire to challenge students with God’s Word and guide them in meaningful dialog?
Beneath The Surface© is a Biblical, multi-media seminar examining the latest trends of popular culture in an effort to help students, parents, educators, ministers and others who communicate and work with teenagers. Just as the title suggests, students are challenged to look deeper as they interact and wrestle with the cultural issues of our day, specifically, those concerning today’s media.
Issues covered include: Sexual choices and the media; Drugs & Alcohol and other addictions we face; Exposure to violence in the media and its effects; Suicide/Self-Mutilation/Cutting/Eating Disorders; Bullying, its many faces and how to diffuse it; Pornography and its effects; Following Jesus in American culture; Materialism and the American Dream; Healthy music; and more…
The Beneath The Surface© seminar can be done in a variety of ways such as:
*Covering the issues in-depth with 5 talks
*2-3 days of meetings structured the way you prefer
*One 90 minute session done in one meeting (This is a fast-moving overview)
As an organizer, I understand your desire to plan events that God uses to make a lasting impression on students. My desire is to impact your students and see lives changed now and for eternity. My hope is to also educate adults with the messages I offer.
